Hemp, Cannabis, Marijuana

Laura Noble

Cousin Mary Jane and Lady Jane Gourmet Seed Co is all about hemp! The most fundamental thing you can do for healthful body function is proper nutrition. Eating hemp provides maximum nutrition, minimum consumption.  Hemp is cannabis. Marijuana is cannabis. Hemp is NOT marijuana. Eating hemp won’t get you high or cause you to fail a drug test. Hemp seeds are a plant based protein that is packed with vitamins and minerals, including an excellent supply of magnesium and iron. Hemp has been grown for thousands of years for food, fiber, fuel, and medicine.

Cannabis contains hundreds of phytonutrients that are very beneficial in supporting good health. Hemp is distinctly different from marijuana in that it contains less than .3% Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the phytonutrient in cannabis that when heated produces a psychoactive euphoric effect.  Cannabidiol (CBD) is another phytonutrient within cannabis, which certain cultivars of hemp are specifically grown for their elevated amount of CBD contents. Many people have found consuming hemp extract oils that are high in CBDs to aid in pain relief; reduction in stress and anxiety, inflammatory issues, immune disorders and encourage restful sleep, among other benefits. CBDs are not psychoactive. You won't get high from consuming CBDs. #EatSomeHemp
